According to the 2013 Global Gender Gap report, Scandinavian countries are the most egalitarian in the world— at least, when it comes their efforts in bridging the gender gap, with Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden coming in at the top four. America came in 23rd place. “We’re #23!” is only a catchy chant when it comes from Miley.

Bill O’Reilly was doing his usual sexist blowhard shtick when he told two female panelists that “there’s got to be some kind of gender deficiency” that would make women bad presidents. What’s his excuse for being one of the most embarrassingly dumb TV hosts ever, then?
Not The Maine Attraction
A Maine State Representative is in hot water (or perhaps freezing water; it is Maine, after all) after some misogynist comments he made in the 90s surfaced, including one where he advocated for men to “use [their] superior strength to force [themselves] on a woman.” Maybe women should use their superior voting strength to force him out of office.

A female Georgetown professor has rejected Facebook COO Cheryl Sandberg’s business philosophy, saying that women shouldn’t have to “lean in” to succeed in the male-dominated business world. It seems everyone’s got a different philosophy so you be sure to do you. Just don’t tip over.

Now that the Oscars have come and gone, let’s get to know the woman who makes it all possible: the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president, Cheryl Boone Isaacs. She’s only the third woman and the first African-American to hold the position. Breaking through the celluloid ceiling never looked so good.
